You just need to find the subtitle file (downloaded from your preferred site) and give it the same name as the video is named there. Now transfer that file to VLC for iOS by using any transfer medium. VLC will automatically detect that file and start playing with the video.

When I played it with VLC (or others) it plays sideways. Speed is normal though. Then I played it with QuickTime and the vid played normally (Portrait) but the speed was too slow. QT is lagging.
