How to back up messages on my Iphone 4s?
I have been told I can back up my text messages and whatsapp messages on my computer… But how do I do it?
I just want to save my text's and whatsapp's somewhere but do I do this on itunes or on my actual computer? On a normal backup when updating my phone from my computer, it does'nt save them I don't think… Or if it does, where do I find them?!
Thanks in advance… Any info or help is appreciated!
Itunes will ask you if you want to make a backup.
ITunes does this yes. Just right click the iPhone under the devices & you would see the option to do so.
Unfortunately the backup file is not accessible by the end user (you), but once it is backed up should you need to revert to it its simply a matter of restoring from that backup. You would see the option to do that the same place as the initial backup option.
Yes. You can use iTunes to backup all your iPhone data including text messages. Messages will be saved in a file called 3d0d7e5fb2ce288813306e4d4636395e047a3d28 in iTunes backup folder. But you need a SQLiteManager to view messaegs in the file.
By the way, a simple way to backup and restore iphone sms on computer is by using a 3rd party program such as Backuptrans iPhone SMS Backup & Restore. Works fine with my iPhone 4S.
- Why is my iPhone5 sending some messages as iMessage and others as Text Messages? I understand that messages are sent as Text Messages when there's no signal or poor Wi-Fi connection. However, I'm successfully texting some people using iMessage but others (still iPhone users) as Text messages. The other person will send iMessages and then my responses will be sent as green Text Messages.
- Why do iPhone messages come up as picture messages on other phones? When my friend sends me texts, she has an iphone, they come up as picture messages and i can't revieve them on my phone because my plan doesn't cover picture messages. Can she change the settings so it won't come up as a picture?
- When I receive text messages with emojis from an iPhone, why do the messages only appear partially? My phone is a "Verizon Samsung Intensity II" slide phone. (Also it's blue but that doesn't matter.) Also, if I'm included in an iPhone group chat (spoiled rich friends, but not snobby…), I get each posted message as a separate message, so I'll end up randomly with 67 unread messages clogging up my inbox.
- Read messages on my iPhone sometimes show up as unread messages on my Mac? - 1 I'm talking about email messages. I have my accounts hooked up to iCloud, so if I read an email on my iPhone or Mac, it should count it as read on the other device. It has worked, but sometimes it doesn't. What can/should I do?
