How to backup iPhone to iTunes?

I plugged in my iPhone 4 and it opened into iTunes. I right-clicked and selected "back up" and then it apparently loaded and backed up in all of 20 seconds. I don't trust it. What did it back up, and how can I view what as been backed up? Did it back up all of my info, including contacts, photos, emails, etc?

  • Why won't itunes let me backup my Iphone? Every time I plug in my iphone to my computer and itunes comes up I get this message "Itunes could not back up the iphone because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the Iphone." What does this mean? And why can't I backup my iphone? should I not update to iOS 6 before I have my phone backed up because I'm afraid I'll lose everything.

  • Is there a way(without computer)to move my texts from my iPad to my IPhone? ICloud backup? Had to restore phone to last backup and lost texts? Hi, yesterday I had to reset my phone (IPhone 8 plus) to factory default and restore it to its last backup (April 15th). I also have an iPad mini, which everything is Synced. I got everything back on my phone (up to date) except my text messages. I'm not able to access my computer right now and have read you can get them back my backing up you messages to ICloud. Is there anything I can do to get them back on my phone (they are still on my iPad mini), without using my Mac?
  • IPhone 3GS backup without iTunes? OK, my situation is that I want to backup my contacts, pictures, videos etc. Without using itunes ( I've never synced to iTunes with my phone so in order to update it I would have to ultimately sync and wipe all the information).So, if anyone knows a program that will backup all the information that I can restore from after an OS update it would be greatly appreciated
