How to 'Brick' an iPhone 5 for warranty purposes?
I have an iPhone 5 with a special warranty that if it breaks I can have any phone of equal value of what I originally paid for the phone. I want the Samsung Galaxy 4 so I need to brick my phone or break it somehow (without physical damage) to trade it in. It doesn't have to be a permanent bricking just so the sales rep sees it won't turn on

Depends, what firmware is your iphone running? If it is running iOS 6-6.1.2 jailbreak it with evasi0n (evasi0n.com) and update it to 6.1.4.boom. Your iphone will be a brick, it can be easily fixed with a restore but they probably won't bother fixing it…
- Will updating (to 6.1.4) a jailbroken iPhone 5 on 6.1.2 brick it? So I'm updating to the beta version of ios 7, but first I need to uninstall my Evasi0n jailbreak and update to 6.1.4.
