How to change the way my computer reads my iphone?

I'm trying to get a video off my iphone. But the thing is, everytime my iPhone is plugged into my computer.well obv.iTunes reads it, and I can only open from iTunes. But the iPhone 4S doesn't show up in Devices in Computer.

How could I make it that, when I plug in my iPhone. It's ask my a set list of options what to do with the iPhone, like open in iTunes/ open in a Folder/ open in Windows, etc.

This may vary depending on your Windows operating system, but in Settings there's something called "Auto play", usually under the Hardware and Sound category. If your iPhone is plugged in via USB, it should detect the iPhone and allow you to choose what action the computer takes when it is plugged in. For example, on my Windows 8 it gives me the options of import to dropbox, take no action, ask me every time, or open file explorer. If you want flexibility in what you can do with the phone, choose ask me every time. That way, you have the freedom to choose what the computer does with the phone each time you plug it in.

We both have an iphone and so does my fella, i text him and it tells me he is read them, even if there are really cute texts its rare he will text back and i don't understand why?
