How to connect an iPhone 7 Plus to an external mic?
I'm trying to connect my Samson go mic to my iPhone 7 but I can't because the only port on my phone is the charging port which is made specifically for iPhone 7. Basically where my charger goes is where my earphones goes.
It may work with a lighting to USB OTG adapter, as with the Apple "Camera connection" kit.
Some devices do work like that, others do not - it's all down to whether the phone has a suitable driver built in (as you can't add any) and if it can provide enough power.
Example:
You can get them a lot cheaper from other suppliers, but make sure it's still a genuine Apple one, the chinese look-alikes for these do not work, from my experience.
I've used one with a MIDI adapter and with a small audio interface.
If your mic does not work, you can get specific audio interfaces that are designed to work with an iphone/ipad as well as PCs, like the Tascam IRX.
- Suggest me a Camera with external mic input and Flip screen with in affordable price I want to do travel vlog on my own, like with the help of tripod so I want to see my self while vlogging and I want there to be external mic input so that Audio quality should be rich. Please suggest. Apart from that tell me iPhone 6s+ is better for that work or I should buy a camera.
- My external mic isn't working? Someone So I just received my external mic for my Iphone, it has the end of like an aux cord so it fits in my phone and I don't need an adapter. But when I tested it, sound only recorded from the built in microphone and not the external mic. The phone seems to be recognizing it as headphones instead of a mic, is there a setting I need to change?!
- I got the iPhone 7 Plus red product and now 3 weeks later the mic isn't working for calls I was talking to someone today and the person couldn't hear me anymore. I was trying to charge it and then instantly I guess they couldn't hear me anymore. I tried calling another person, but they said the same thing. My mic works for Siri, Videos, Facebook messenger. What can I do to fix this?
- How to hook up a 3.5mm external mic to iphone? I have a 3.5mm 3pin microphone that i would like to use to record audio on my iphone 4 with but it won't recognize the mic and keeps recording from the built in one. Is there a cord/adapter i can make or buy to make (prefer to make) my phone recognize it?
