How to copy songs from ipod/iphone to a new computer?
My old laptop just crashed and I need to transfer the songs from my ipod and iphone onto a new computer. Its using Windows Vista. Please let me know how I can do it either manually or with a trusted third party software. I did it once before a few years ago so I know its possible.
There a program called sharepod
it's free

The best options for transferring media from your iDevice back to your computer, free of charge. Windows was bereft of a solid solution to the problem of transferring media from iDevice to computer.
Copy is a data-transfer program that makes sharing, saving and transferring your iPod's contents so much easier! It transfers batches of songs, videos, photos and even plays lists from your iPod and copies them to a computer folder or into your ITunes library.
Here I provide some steps about this topic:
1. Connect your Device to your Windows PC.
2. Open Share Pod. (If you open SharePod prior to connecting your Device, it will start looking for it immediately and may conclude nothing is connected.)
3. Choose the specific songs/files you want and click the large "Copy to computer" button in the upper left-hand corner beside the SharePod window. Alternatively, if you want everything, click the "Backup iPod" button instead.
4. A window will pop up and ask you to choose a location. Decide where you want to transfer the music and how you want them to be organized. When you've made up your mind, click the "OK" button.
5. Wait while SharePod transfers your music.
I use a software called copy trans manager

- When you sync your iphone to your computer does it copy everything onto your pc? I have broke my iphone to the point where it is un repairable, i only sync my iphone the other day to my pc does this mean everything what was on my iphone was copied and saved to it? Or have i lost everything?
- Songs from iTunes won't copy onto iPhone? Every time I click "Sync" on iTunes a pop-up comes up; "Some of the items in the iTunes library were not copied to the iPhone because they could not be found." It plays the songs that were "not found" in iTunes, but not on my phone.
- On itunes when you setup as new iPhone will it delete all my songs for my iPod? Ok it asks to restore from backup or setup as new iPhone and first time got an iPhone but always had an iPod. So if I click setup as new iPhone will this cause my whole tunes be deleted and lose all my apps and songs for my iPod or is it just for the iPhone
- Itunes doesn't copy all my songs to my Iphone? I previously removed some songs from my phone, but I wanted them back on my now. So I clicked autofill and strangely not only did it not put all the songs back, it even removed some others. I tried selecting all my songs and dragging them to my phone, most of my songs are there now but still not all of them. I'm not sure what went wrong here.
