You need to have Xcode IDE to program iPhone applications and knowledge of the Objective-C programming language and Cocoa Touch. I think you need to have an iPhone developer membership too. You also need a Mac OS in order to run Xcode and program in Objective-C with the Cocoa API.
You need Eclipse or NetBeans to program in Java or the one that you can get when you download the SDK from Google. You also need to have knowledge of their Android Java API and the Java programming language.
