How to disable firewall that is blocking itunes access?

I'm not able to access iTunes on my iphone due to my Wi-Fi firewall blocking it because it uses a lot of data, I'm able to access it over any other Wi-Fi connection though

How can un disable the firewall or at least give access to itunes?

Added (1). Thank you @radroud for your help!
my router is a thomson TG585 and the address is http://192.168.1.254 i'm already aware of it since i used it to change my password
any way i accessed the router and i noticed that the firewall is disabled actually!
what could the problem be?

Added (2). Yes without plugging it, i'm opening the app store application but it won't load

Added (3). Thak you so much for your help, i actually discovered that not just itunes downloads but i'm not able to download anything on my laptop even though i can seamlessly surf the web and open webpages and i even checked my download speed and it is 0.8 mbps as usual but i don't know what it wrong! I will call ogero tomorrow morning
again thanks for your help, i don't think it is just an itunes issue anymore

You can set the priority not to block the itunes in your firewall application. This is the easiest way to get rid of blocking application by firewall.

First of all you need of course to get the ip of your router it is probably 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1, you can google the model and get it, once you are there it depends on your router but i think it will be obvious

once you connect you should find a firewall button, probably under security, tell me what you see if you can't figure it out i'm online
---once you get it put it in the address bar of the browser

am not able to access iTunes on my iphone due to my Wi-Fi firewall blocking it, you are accessing your itunes from your phone without plugging it you mean?

Just to make sure i'm understanding you, you are trying to remotly access the itunes that is on your pc from your iphone? Right?

If so, try to go, control panel network and internet, homegroup, you should find somewher choose media streaming option, u click on it and then you allow "media programs on this PC and remote connections"

  • Is turning off my routers firewall bad? I've had this problem where my Internet would constantly shut off but ever since I turned off the firewall on my router the Internet never goes off. Would it be dangerous just to keep my routers firewall off? Both my computers have there own anti virus and firewall and the only other devices I have are my iPhone, iPad, and Xbox 360
  • Is there an iPhone app for blocking calls and texts? I had an app on my last android phone called 'call blacklist' you could add numbers you didn't want to have text or call you. And if those numbers did, it showed it in a message log on the app. Is there anything like that for the iPhone? I really could use it.
  • IPhone App for blocking a certain number? I want to block a certain number from texting me but I want to be able to go back in a week or 2 and turn the app off to see if they have tried to contact me. Or I would like an app that lets them text me but that I can't respond to them. Does anything like this exist?
  • How to disable Internet access on certain devices? Sometimes, when my youngest son wants to hog the Internet, he does some setting which restricts the access to Internet for other devices- for example my daughters pc, her iPhone and also my iPad. Which can be so annoying and frankly extremely selfish. Does anyone know how this works? When he does it, the Internet literally does not work for us and it is very frustrating. I want to know how he does it, and how we can also overcome / prevent it. Any help would be appreciated. Josie x
