How can I download music onto my iPhone 4, and save it to the official 'Music' app on my phone?
There are MANY sites that you can download free songs from. I use aimini.net (but you have to sign up for an account) and then there's one called beemp3.com. You can always search "download free songs" on google as well to find more sites.

There's a way, if your device is jailbroken. There's an app in Cydia called Mewseek. It allows you to listen to the song before you download it, download songs, listen to the songs in the Mewseek app or sync them to your Music app. Problem is, in order to get unlimited download, you need to subscribe. However, it gives you a trial. You can sync 10 songs at a time 10 times. So you can download and sync 100 songs.
