How to download music onto an Iphone not using a USB cable?
So I recently purchased a computer with Linux Ubuntu software, and I'm totally not a tech genius and people with Linux will know that is handy to be one if you are using the software.
My problem is that Apple haven't released Itunes software available for Linux users so I managed to install a version of iTunes via wine. The iTunes that I currently have is an older version like iTunes 10 or something. I have an iPhone 4s and I have lots of old music on my phone but I would like some new music but iTunes on this computer will not support USB devices. So to me, iTunes seems to be pretty pointless right now.
I have looked up many forums and they all say the same - "Just use iCloud" - but as far as I'm concerned you can only download music from iTunes to your iPhone if it's been purchased through the iTunes store, which none of my music is. I've also heard of iTunes Wi-Fi sync however it states you have to connect via USB cable to set it up, which I can't do.
As I'm not a tech genius, I have not yet figured out how to download a more recent version of iTunes onto my computer yet, as I'm not good with the terminal - or wine, in that case.
I don't have a spotify account and sadly do not have the money to purchase one.
So my question is, is there any way possible to download music, as in full albums, onto my iPhone without using a USB cable? It doesn't have to be via iTunes - just anything really would help?

There's a couple native players that may be able to sync music with your device.
If you can, try downloading a DIFFERENT music downloader other than iTunes on to your device, then search and download the songs you like.
Apparently you need the latest update of 'libimobiledevice' for iphone USB support on Linux.
The Rhythmbox music player can then transfer music.
I use Linux a lot but never bothered attempting to connect an iphone as I have windows machines available as well.
I've had iphones for a few years and have never purchased music via itunes; I have my own collection ripped from my own CDs.
I just copy the tracks / albums I want on my phone in a directory I made for phone music, and from within itunes import that directory to the itunes library to update it.
Everything syncs across to the phone perfectly - so categorically it does not only handle itunes purchases.
I suggest turning off the itunes copy or move to library feature when using this method, you just end up with yet another copy of the tracks in a less covenient location.
If itunes can sync wirelessly, that should work just the same once the music is visible in the itunes library.
- Music will not download onto iPhone? My iphone won't sync new music to it. When i plug it in, it syncs the old music, but not any of the new cds i put on. I tried deleting all the music off my iphone and resyncing everything but it still isn't working. I also tried restarting my iphone, and i checked for updates for itunes and my iphone, but both are up to date. The music just will not sync! what do i do now?
