How to fix a very grainy photo on Photoshop?

I took this picture with my boyfriend on my iphone… I love the photo, but you can't see anything clearly. I know that it is impossible to make it a good quality, but are there any photoshop experts out there who know how to make it clearer or at lease the lightest bit better? I have photoshop CS5 Extended. I would greatly appreciate it.

Added (1). The link above does not work!

This one does

Open it in camera raw and use the sharpen/noise reduction options in the "Detail" tab. Can't see the picture from the link you posted.

Sweetie, the link didn't work because you tried to take us directly to your email - luckily for you, that doesn't work. I'm glad you now uploaded the photos and gave us a real link.

To the bad news:
That photo isn't simply grainy. It is VERY much back-lit and has therefore turned into a silhouette.

When the subject is VERY under exposed, there simply isn't enough information to "fix" and it can't be done. If you had taken that photo as a RAW image with a DSLR, then we might be able to coax out a few details, but not from a camera photo, sorry.

Grainy photographs can be the result of a number of issues, such as a low-quality camera or a dark background when taking the picture. Adobe Photoshop is a computer software program that can help repair such photos, as Photoshop specializes in photo editing. That's not to say that getting a grainy photo to look sharp is simple. Sometimes you need to try several different methods via Photoshop before getting the look you want.
Other Peop

1. Open your photograph in Photoshop. Click on "File," and then "Save As," then rename the file when prompted. This will allow you to save the original photo because, again, you may want to make a variety of edits on the same picture.

2. Select the "Filter" option, then drag down to "Noise." After you click on "Noise," you will be given an option to "Reduce Noise." Drag you cursor over the "Reduce Noise" option and release.

3. Adjust the sliders in the pop-up window that appears after you click "Reduce Noise." There will be a window showing you what changes are being made as you move the sliders, so you can tell how the picture will look as you make the necessary adjustments. Once you have adjusted the sliders and improved the sharpness of the picture, click "OK" in the pop-up window.

4. Grab the smudge tool from the Photoshop toolbox, in the event your photo is still not as sharp as you would like -- or if there are still grainy portions. Zoom in to work on a specific portion of the photo, then click and hold the mouse and scroll over the grainy portion of the photo. This will be both smooth and sharpen the selected areas.

5. Try the "Blur" tool if your photo is still grainy. Click the "Filter" option again, then drag down to "Blur," and then "Smart Blur." Once you select "Smart Blur," another window will appear that will allow you to adjust sliders used to sharpen the photo. This step is the same as the "Reduce Noise" method, only with different effects. Once you have eliminated the graininess, click "OK" and save your picture.

  • Why do I do this? I'm very very very tired yet I don't want to sleep? I want to sleep because I'm practically blinking and bobbing my head side to side like a drunken man but I just don't want to sleep. I watch tv or go on Facebook or play on my iPhone. And I'm starting to get dark circles. And as a guy I don't wear. Concealer or whatever
  • Photo iPhone apps like photoshop? What are some really good Photography apps for iPhone where you can edit pictures really cool? I don't mean ones that just change the hue and where you can crop the pictures. But i've seen pictures where there's like someone standing in hands and edits like that that look like they were done on photoshop but the creator says that all she uses is apps? Anyone have any good ones?
  • Netflix from PS4 to 65 LED HDTV looks grainy? I was watching (Breaking Bad to be specific) Netflix today from my PS4 to my TV. Connected via HDMI to the tv, the picture looks really grainy during most scenes. I don't watch much netflix anywhere else besides my iPhone and don't notice it on there.
  • My iphone screen is very dark, but if I look very close, I see the apps slightly? My iphone screen is very dark but I still see the buttons slightly, but I have to look very closely in order to. It is definitely not the brightness, because the brightness is set to 100% and its way too dark anyway. I tried restoring my phone and turning it on and off, but nothing is working. Please help. What do I do? I literally threw it out of anger and its fixed.
