How to fix an Iphone 5 that was dropped in water
I dropped my Iphone 5 in the toliet today, and quickly picked it up and dried it off. I dried all the little cracks, and speakers, blow dried it on low. And my speaker which had been broken before started working again, i could hear calls, listen to my music, charge my phone, everything. Then i decieded i would put it in rice over night just to be on the safe side, well i would turn it off, stick it in rice and walk away and hear it ring, and i thought maybe i didn't turn it off all the way, after doing this several times i tried to turn it off and watched it the whole time to make sure it turned off, and sure enough it didn't. What should i do? I have it in rice right now with the phone off, but the battery will die very soon. Should i try to charge it? Help!
Added (1). Its in rice right now, and i can't just go out and buy a new phone, their like 700 dollars, so if i can fix it i'm going to try everything.
Buy another one.
Try drying it in rice.
I think that your top button to lock the phone is broken. If your phone can hold a charge, charge it. Take it to apple and say that the top button is broken. I think it is a recall because my iPhone 5 has its top button broken and I did not do anything to it.
Let it dry several days and hope it didn't get water damaged. Otherwise you will need to take it to an apple store. This will be a good lesson learned on how to take care of your phone.

And i don't have the time or the money to get it to the store and pay for this.
- I dropped my Iphone in water - no water damage showing on indicator? Here is the situation. I dropped my Iphone 5 in the toilet (I hadn't peed yet so all good there). Immediately switched it off, dried it and put it in a bag of rice. This was at about 6 p.m yesterday. This morning without turning it on I opened up the sim compartment to check the circle for water damage (checked online and apparently this is where to check for water damage). The indicator was white. It is back in the rice but I was wondering - when you think it will be ok to turn back on?
- I dropped my iPhone in water, can I fix it? I dropped my phone in the bathtub, it was only in there for a few second before I grabbed it out and dried it off, but the speaker doesn't work now. This happened about five minutes ago. How do I dry it off and get the speaker to work without damaging the phone?
