How to get a blacklisted iPhone 4 working again?
I bought an iPhone 4 from a friend. It was all working fine until one day it suddenly stopped working. Turned out that 3 (UK) had blacklisted it cos my friend hadn't paid his bills ages ago.
I need to get it working again. Found someone on eBay that will sort it out, but they charge £57. (And I'm worried that if they do make it so it's not blacklisted, what if 3 decide to blacklist it again in the future?)
I've also seen a lot of 'unlocking' services on google. Would unlocking it fix the blacklisting problem?
PS - The phone is jailbroken if that's any help.
I think the friend that sold you the iPhone forgot to mention that it has a bad esn, since he didn't pay his bills. Your best luck is to find a service on eBay to get the problem fixed.
You need to go to your "friend" and make him buy it back, or pay his bills and have it unlocked for you. Nothing else will work

- Looking at buying an iphone 4s, locked and disabled, can I get it working again? I know nothing about the iphone, or apple, so any help would be great. The phone is locked and disabled (I'm not sure what that means), but they are selling it for $40 and I know there's a great deal of software hacks available for the iphone. Does anyone know how I can do this? Or should I pass on the phone?
