How to get Airplay to work with stereo system?

I just bought a Yamaha RX473 receiver with AirPlay capability. It was an open box so no instructions and I have no idea how to use Airplay and no icon shows up on my phone.
I have an iPhone 5 with updated iOS software and a Wi-Fi connection. How do I stream music wirelessly to the system?

Did you connect the receiver to you Ethernet network? Did you set it up to use the network?
Did you download or read the manual?

I have two good suggestions. First, seek an answer on ehow.com secondly Youtube. You can't go wrong with either and both will get you squared away quick fast and in a hurry. I can't answer your question because I don't know the first thing about Yamaha RX473 receiver. I know its a fine one, but I can't help you without looking at it to be honest.

You should be able to download a manual for your unit from the Yamaha web site… Sometimes for older models the manual is no longer available directly from the manufactures web site but it is usually still available somewhere on line at a third party site… So check the net also…
