How to get Internet in an apartment?
I'm not tech-savy at all. Do you need to purchase one of those router boxes to get Internet in your apartment? I just moved out yesterday, and I'm dumbfounded when it comes to the Internet (I'm on my iPhone typing this question).
Call up your local cable company and go "yo, like I need internet" They'll hook you up.
Yes you have to have a modem connected to your dsl link in your wall. Then go to Best Buy and buy a router. Follow the instructions that come with it. Also make sure to order internet so you will have to be paying for that everymonth. Hope this helps.
The router is for providing a wireless connection to your computers. If you only have desktop, then you won't need a router. If you have a laptop, then it is up to you, since without the router you will have wires running to it. To get internet in an apartment, simply call your cable company, and they will get you connected. It runs in to the apartment on a coax cable, just like your cable tv.
- Why does my iPhone still charge for Internet even when I'm not using Internet? So, I recently got a pay monthly plan with my new iPhone 4s. When i'm out and about I'm usually updating my twitter and Facebook account. But, when I'm put my phone down, 3G still says I'm using it and charging me. So do I have to turn it off when i'm finished? Or is there a much easier way?
- No reception in apartment, iphone app for making calls and texting through wi-fi? I've got an iphone 5 with t-mobile, the apartment i live in gives me literally no reception at all. But as soon as i step out of it, i get an immidiate 3-4 bars, so I figured it's just my apartment. Does anyone know of any iphone apps that can use my phone number to make calls and text through wi-fi while still allowing me to keep my t- mobile service? So that i can still get calls and texts while in my apartment?
- My Iphone is not letting me access the internet or internet based apps? I have an Iphone 5. Never had any issues but now it won't connect to the internet or any apps. It does the same thing it does when I have no service (just has that little circle symbol that means it's trying to get through). Orginally, I thought it must be a universal problem but everyone else has service and they are in the same location as me. Also I always use my phone here with no problems. I have tried turning it off and on again but nothing.
