How to get my iPhone headphone mic to work with my Asus Vivobook?

The audio manager with the Asus is Realtek.
When I plug it in the microphone doesn't appear.
The headphones get audio, but the remote and the microphone are no good.

Any ideas?

One curious person.

I have a similar asus ultrabook ux31e which has a headphone input but that slot doesn't include a mic. I think that is why - the ones that support mics are a bit different in the rings on the aux cable and such.

  • Why don't my iPhone headphones with mic work with my Mac? When I plug my headphones in, they work fine. The remote works too. I just can't get the mic to work. System Preferences doesn't detect them, and I can't set them up with Audio MIDI Setup. They work perfectly on my iPhone, but not my Mac. I know they work with Mac's, because I have seen people state on the Apple website that they do. I need help! MacBook Pro 13 inch (Early 2011) Mac OSX Lion 10.7.4
  • Somehow, a huge piece of the headphone jack got stuck in the headphone port, and I can't find any I think the headphone type is just a normal iPhone headphone. So ground, audio, mic and some of the plastic, or whatever it is, around it, got stuck in there, and it's not super deep, probably because it's almost the whole headphone jack, but it's still in there. Someone please help! I can't find anything! It's just the headphone jack tip that got stuck for everyone else! It's a laptop.
  • Iphone mic doesn't work during call? I thought, maybe the mic stopped working completely, but i did facetime with my cousin and she heard me perfectly. The iphone mic its self doesn't work during calls only!
  • Iphone 5 headphone jack not working.possible to adapt lightning to a headphone jack? Friend and i plugged iphone 5s in at party to play music.both iphone's headphones jacks stopped working.fried had apple care, i do not. I found an adapter that goes from lighting to micro usb and an adapter that goes from micro usb to headphore port. If i buy these adapters will i be able to use it as a regular headphone jack? Or is there another way to get around it?
