How to get the best earbuds?

I use the iPod on my iPhone to play my music. I know they have specifications on the back, but what should I be looking for?

I listen to almost any kind of music. I'm looking for a solid all-around performer.

Things I need to have are

1. Good bass
2. Have iPhone controls
3. Not "dome" styled. What I mean are the kind with rubber inserts that look like a dome. The problem I have is that they never fit my ear and either are too uncomfortable, or fall out.
4. Comfortable

Any ideas?

Well you're going to have to pay big bucks if you expect to get good bass without the rubber inserts, and without the rubber inserts, you will get very little outside noise cancellation

I've replaced all of my IEMs' silicone tips with foam tips from Comply (http://www.complyfoam.com). They're all a lot more comfortable now.

I currently own and use the Shure SE530, the Etymotic ER4P, and the much cheaper Klipsch Image S4i. What I would recommend really depends on how much you want to spend.

For under $50, the Klipsch is well worth buying: http://www.amazon.com/...008X8HZZO/

If you want to go higher, Shure make great products from the $100 ($150 with iPod cable) SE215 to the $1000+ SE846. All Etymotics are worth considering. Other good brands include Sennheiser, Westone, and if you're feeling rich, JH Audio.
