How to get Twitter on my Computer?

Ok so iv spend about an hour trying to figure out how to create a twitter account just through my google chrome internet browser. I have made one in the past but now when I go to create an account I says download an app (and I don't have an iphone or smart phone) or itunes or other device. For the other devices there's windows 8 and i'm using windows 7 so i'm asking how do i create a twitter account just through my internet browser like any normal website. I'm so annoyed at how difficult this is to do and if you can't sign up from your internet browser then I will be very disappointing. Thanks

Added (1). Thanks for the feedback so soon but when I click sign up for the first time on my internet browsers there's no create account page where you fill in your details just an app download and google play.

Just go to twitter.com and create the account. It shouldn't ask you to use an app. You can access twitter completely through a web browser.

Google Chrome has apps in its app store, but you can just go to twitter.com.

  • Twitter SMS & Twitter App Mobile Notifications? I have and Iphone 4, currently up to date, etc etc. When I turn on mobile notifications on twitter I receive both the SMS/404-04 text notification and a push notification from my twitter mobile app. I would prefer to receive the notifications from my app only and not SMS. It would be easier to distinguish tweet from normal texts. Plus The SMS notifications leave my texts list messy. I can't figure out how to do this anywhere. Solutions?

And i use twitter.before i got my ohone i just had the twitter notifications to the people i was subscribed to sent to my phone. But i still use that but it sends me notifications too directly from twitter and i just want my texts. But how do i turn off the notifications without turning off my texts.
