How to hook up a time Warner DVr box to internet?

I just got a DVr cable Box from time Warner and I want to hook it up to the Internet so I can use the twc tv app on my iPhone to watch live tv. Every time I try it it says it must be connected to home network wich it is. Any suggestions?

You don't hook the TWC DVR to the internet. It is already hooked up to TWC's service. TWC has an app that allows you to manage the recordings on that box. This happens over the cable that is in the box already.

THe TWC TV app doesn't need your box to work. You do need to be a TWC customer.

As for home network, that means that your iPhone needs to be connected to your network via Wi-Fi. And believe me, you want it because streaming video data to your iPhone uses a LOT of data.

  • Why does my Direct TV DVR have USB ports? There are two USB ports on my Direct TV DVR. If I plug in with my iPhone, USB, etc, what kinds of things can I do?
  • Time Warner Cable Wi-Fi problem? My wireless internet isn't working. Everything else is working, including my cable and wired internet. I went to the router and pressed the reset button in the back and nothing worked, everything turns on and the 'sync' green button just stays lit. I checked all my cables to see if they're loose and still nothing. MY iPhone 5s connects to the Wi-Fi, but nothing loads when I press Safari, so I know its working. What's the problem?
  • Is time Warner cable frustrating to anyone else? I've noticed that my Internet is very slow throughout the day, even if I'm the only person in the house using it. It is slow from about 2pm to 12am. It does speed up rapidly around 1 In the morning. I've been wondering if the are throttling their services and if anyone else has this problem. If you can explain why this may be happening, any help would be great. Also, I can promise that it is not my computer, as it is also the same case on my iPhone and iPad.
