How to improve my router signal?
I have a really good wireless signal, everything works great except my Xbox 360 when I try to stream Netflix. I need 3 bars of signal for it to be in HD, I only get one. I usually have an iPhone 5, iPhone 4, iPod touch, iPad mini, Laptop, and Galaxy s3 connected to the same network.
Will disconnecting some devices from the network increase the signal? Or moving the router right next to the 360 make a difference? What if I connect the Ethernet cable directly? Or what can I do to the router to improve the signal?
Depending on the router you have, the bandwidth may be strained due to the amount of connections it has. Also the router can be aging. You can connect directly to it and see if it works. Try moving the router to a central area of the room.
What speeds are you getting from your ISP? Can you verify? You can try putting the router closer but I'd only use that as a last resort troubleshooting method when looking for interference issues. Normally your house has full Wi-Fi range unless it's really large or some device is giving you trouble. If those devices are actively using bandwidth, then yes it would help not to. Again, if you think it's your router's signal check your Wi-Fi speeds with an speed test vs you Ethernet wired speed, if there's a dramatic difference you'll know. I don't think it's the router.
- What's the difference between a cheap router and a good router? Just wanted to know the difference between a cheap router and an expensive router, I know that is a very broad question, I'm just a bit confused on how a router works. Does it increase my Internet speed on multiple devices? I get 50Mb per second, Well at least that's what I pay for. I have a PS3 two iPhones and a tablet, as well as a desktop PC that is wireless. Can anyone recommend an excellent router under $150
- Router Signal/Internet Issue Hi, I'm trying to connect my wireless router and I use a USB modem. I have already followed the directions and I can't connect it to the internet. My PS Vita, IPhone and PS3 can pick up the signal and the IP address fine but just can't connect to the internet. Does anyone know how to fix it?
- Router/ Signal booster recommendations? I'm looking for advice on new gear to improve my Wi-Fi reliability and range. I have 25mb broadband and looking for best stable connection and ideally way too boost the range to 80-100 ft (if that's possible while maintaining decent speed). Also only devices we use are iphone 5, and two laptops with i believe n rated Wi-Fi cards.
- I have pictures on my iPhone but the quality is bad, how do I improve it? I have an iPhone 4 and someone sent me a picture but the quality is awful. Is there any way I can improve it?
