How to jailbreak/hack an iPhone 5 so you can switch carriers?
My friend found an iPhone and decided to give it to me. The iPhone's carrier is AT&T and I have Sprint. I was wondering if there was a way that I can get for Sprint?
(I factory restored the phone)
Phone the original carrier for the handset and ask them to unlock it. Your friend may need to do this as they'll want to verify it's his phone.
Unlocking carrier is nothing to do with hacking or jailbreaking, it's a perfectly allowable thing to do when you want to change carrier.
- Would I be able to switch carriers without having to switch phones? I'm with Consumer Cellular and I have an iPhone SE, but I'm thinking of switching carriers so that I can get unlimited data. I don't want to get a new phone because I've had my current one about six months, I really like it, and it works great. I'm not locked into a contract with Consumer Cellular. Would I be able to switch to another carrier without having to purchase a new phone?
- If i switch carriers will I have to restart my phone? I want to switch carriers. Right now I have metro pcs but I'm planning to switch to T-Mobile. I got a new iPhone about 2 months ago so if I switch carriers I'm not looking on buying a new phone. So will I have to restart my phone to switch? Will I loose anything like pictures, apps, or stuff like that?
- Should I switch carriers for the iPhone 5S? I want to buy the 5S, but right now I here that you can only buy the unlocked version for T mobile. Sprint, At&t, and Verizon all have it for a two year, $200 dollar contract. Should I switch carriers?
- Is it possible to switch straight talk carriers? I have an AT&T iPhone on straight talk. It was ok where I used to lie, but where I'm now I have absolutely no service. Is there a way I can switch it to Verizon and get on Verizon towers, while staying on straight talk plan?
