How to keep the same mobile number on a different sim?
I've had the same number for years and just bought a iPhone and its got a different number to it obviously, I want to be able to keep my old number and just transfer it into my new phone? Do I just have to phone my network or can I email them instead?
You'll have to ring your provider and ask them to transfer your number
Phone up the network that you're on (or try visiting their website, some allow you to do it on there) and ask to change your number on your SIM. You can do it over the phone and usually takes 24 hours.
Contact your provider let them know you wish to keep your present number. You will have to provide the sim number ( not phone number ) of the current card so that it can be cancelled. They will then send you a new sim with you number programmed into it. It is not possible to change the number on the sim that came with the phone as they are factory set.
If you got the phone from a shop they could have made all the arrangements then.

- Why is mobile sending number different to my number? I recently bought an Iphone and did a sim swap so I could keep my phone number. Everything has been ok. However, when I send an imessage it shows the recipient a different number to mine. I don't think this happens when I send a SMS. Presumably it's the original number for the new sim? Why is this?

I'm looking at buying an iphone and i was wondering if telstra can transfer my number and 1cent text option etc, from my prepaid next g sim card onto a micro sim for an ipone. I couldn't find it on their website or anything.
