How to know to what carrier my iphone 4s is locked to?
I bought an iphone 4s phone and would like to unlock for t mobile. But wen I try to unlock it on my computer its asking me what carrier it is and I don't know
There's sites where you can look up the phone's IMEI and find out. You could also take it to an Apple store
Unlocking phones in the US is illegal without permission of the carrier though.
There are actually many ways to know what carrier your iphone 4s is locked to. First is through websites. There are websites which allows you to enter your IMEI and you will get all the info you need to know about your iPhone 4s. Another way is via special apps - like iPic. You can download it to check the iPhone carrier. Or another way is through an iPhone App.iCarrier from AppStore lets you check IMEIs for network and lock/unlock status.
- IPhone 4 sim locked, same carrier? I have two iPhones here, an iPhone 4 7.0.2 and an iPhone 4S 6.1.3 both are not jailbroken and recently i switched the contents of the phone and switched sim cards as well. Both sim cards are from the same carrier and both are being payed monthly (post-paid) when I switched sims, the sim i used on my 4s is locked on my iphone 4, but the sim on my iphone 4 is okay with the 4S. Again, they are of the same carrier. How do I fix this without jailbreaking?
- If I buy an iphone used from another carrier ad buy a sim card from my carrier will that work? I have an iphone 4s with virgin mobile and I want an iphone 5 but all virgin mobile phones are so expensive! I looked on ebay for virgin mobile nano sim cards and they are only around 2 dollars. If I bought one of these sim cards and a used iphone 5 from another carrier would it work with my carrier?
- I bought an iPhone 5 & it's locked by carrier? Alright so I go through the factory settings such as language & Wi-Fi then I come across this message that says that the phone is locked with the carrier. (ATT&T) Should I take it to the carrier? Or is there any other simpler options. Please explain, thank you.
- I bought a carrier locked ATT iPhone 5c but want to use it on T-Mobile I got a deal I couldn't pass up on an ATT iPhone 5c on Ebay, but I have T-Mobile service. Att will carrier unlock the phone if I was the original owner, but obviously I'm not. What are my options for getting it to work with T-Mobile? Is it possible to have a friend with current ATT service put their Sim in the phone and request an ATT carrier unlock acting as the phone owner? What other options do I have?
