How to make a song from my iphone or itunes playlist a ringtone?

Is there a way you can do it without always paying for them?

How to make a Ringtone out of your iPhone/iTunes Playlist:
1) Go to the App Store
2) Download the App Ringtones
3) Make sure the song you're wanting to use is in your iTunes and synced to your iPhone
4) Open the app Ringtones
5) Select the option use from iPod Library
6) Select the start and stop points of the song by dragging the selection bars along the course of the song
7) Trim it where necessary (by dragging each end where you want the song to be started and stopped) Can only be less than 30 seconds
8) Click on the save button (looks like a floppy disk
9) Plug your iPhone into iTunes
10) Go to file
11) Create new folder
12) Label it ringtones (it'll automatically rename it Tones)
13) Go to your iPhone under Devices
14) Click on Apps
15) Scroll down to file sharing
16) Click on ringtones
17) Click on the ringtone you just made
18) Click on Save To (I'd recommend your desktop)
19) Drag that file that's on your desktop into the Tones folder
20) Open the tones folder and drag that song onto your iPhone that's in the devices tab
21) Sync your iPhone

*If the song isn't on your iPod in your iTunes Library you can drag it onto your iPhone as if you're using it as an iPod song and then follow the above procedure, after the ringtone is created and synced to your phone you can delete the original song that is in your iPod on your iPhone and you'll still keep the Ringtone that was created*

What do I do?
  • Trying to convert itunes song to ringtone, file name not showing up with.m4a? I've found several step by step instructions on how to turn an itunes song into a ringtone for my iphone. I make the song 30 seconds, create an aac version, hit show in windows explorer, but then the next step says change the ".m4a" in the song title file name to ".m4r". The only problem is the file name just shows up with the normal song title, no ".m4a". Any idea what i'm doing wrong?

I have a playlist full of Fall Out Boy songs and whenever "Favorite Record" plays, it goes about 20 seconds in then stops and goes to the next song on the playlist. I don't know if I have to delete the song and redownload it, or what, but can someone give me any ideas?
