How to make my Belkin N150 router go a longer distance?
Okay so I just purchased the Belkin N150 wi-fi router, I set it up and everything was fine, It works just fine when I'm about 10 feet away from it, The router is in the living room and my room is just around the corner from it, when I'm in my room it keeps going to 2 bars to 3 bars and keeps repeating and sometimes its slow on my iphone and laptop. How do I make it stop changing bars every 2 minutes or so when I'm about 30ft away from the router? Here's a video of some guy doing a speed test, skip to 8:20 and he walks to another room and it works perfectly fine for him and my room is not even that far away, but I still get 3 bars on my laptop and 2 on my iphone,
Video of the guy testing his router:
Take it back, go buy a linksys or something else, belkins suck *** frankly.
I looked up your router and it is the cheapest Belkin made. Many users who bought it had problems like yours and also it seems to drop signals alot. You can try putting the router higher and away from stuff that's about it. I spent over $100 bucks for may router and I get 5 bars where ever I'm in my house. So it might be best to spend a little more money. I did notice my router now only cost $50. You should be able to get a good one for around $40 or $50. You could also try a Wi-Fi extender but you aren't that far from you router so that would be a waste.
- Why isn't my belkin wireless router working? I just bought a belkin wireless router (type wpa/wpa2) and I can't seem to get it to work. I activated it on my ipod as well as my iphone and laptop, but nothing is working. When I set it up, the light that said "modem" under it was red even though I connected it to the modem already.
- Why is Belkin Wi-Fi on iPhone not working? In settings it says that I have got the network and am logged in but in the top left hand corner it shows the mobile data symbol not the normal Wi-Fi one. I stopped using mobile data (lost signal) but when I tried to use Internet it said something along the lines of the webpage failed to load because safari is not connected to the Internet. This is really annoying and it is costing me loads to write this!
- What's the difference between a cheap router and a good router? Just wanted to know the difference between a cheap router and an expensive router, I know that is a very broad question, I'm just a bit confused on how a router works. Does it increase my Internet speed on multiple devices? I get 50Mb per second, Well at least that's what I pay for. I have a PS3 two iPhones and a tablet, as well as a desktop PC that is wireless. Can anyone recommend an excellent router under $150
