Plug em in
You might have a bad headphone jack on your new iPhone. If possible, take the phone and headphones to an Apple Store to verify (and replace, as necessary.)
I suppose it is possible that you aren't pushing the headphone plug in far enough or that you have some kind of proprietary headphones with an odd plug.
Try and use a different set of headphones and if those work then you just have a broken pair.
Unplug them, and plug them back in (make sure it clicks) and try again.
If it still doesn't work, try with different headphones.
If they don't work either, take it to an Apple Store and they will replace the phone for free (if you're under warranty)
- Why don't my iPhone headphones with mic work with my Mac? When I plug my headphones in, they work fine. The remote works too. I just can't get the mic to work. System Preferences doesn't detect them, and I can't set them up with Audio MIDI Setup. They work perfectly on my iPhone, but not my Mac. I know they work with Mac's, because I have seen people state on the Apple website that they do. I need help! MacBook Pro 13 inch (Early 2011) Mac OSX Lion 10.7.4
- My normal headphones won't work after using Bluetooth headphones? (iPhone 7)? I've been using AirPods for a couple months now and the battery is getting pretty bad so I decided to get some plug-in Apple headphones but those don't work. When I plug them in I get a "not supported" notification. I've also tried friends headphones that worked fine on there phone, so I know it's not just faulty wires.
- My Apple headphones won't work on my iPhone and only on my iPhone? I have an iPhone and my apple headphones were working fine for one second but when I unplugged them and plugged them back in it doesn't work and the sound comes out of the speaker. I thought it was the headphones but they work on my computer and anything else. Other head phones work on my iphone, I tried 3 other headphones and they were all fine. It's just my apple head phones that don't work. Does anyone know how to fix this?
- IPhone 6 - Will your call go through headphones if they re plugged in? If someone calls you or you want to listen to voicemail and you re wearing headphones, will you be able to hear them with the headphones or do you need to unplug them and actually put it to your ear like you normally would?
