How to measure my dogs speed?

So my dog goes crazy fast and i want to measure his speed. Are there any iphone apps that allow me to do this? I don't want to go and buy some crazy expensive radar gun so i want to know how i can measure his speed.

Time over distance or distance over time, i forget

Set up a little long narrow area for your dog to run in. Let's say that it is 40 meters long. Have a timer and time how long it takes your dog to run across. Let's say it's 10 seconds. To find his speed, you would do:

speed=distance/time
speed=40m/10s
speed=4m/s

Divide the distance by time

Yes, on the iphone or ipod touch there's a default app called "stopwatch" and you can time him using that!

  • One of my dogs has eaten an adaptor? My brother ordered an iphone adaptor which was delivered today while me and my family went out for the day. My 9 month old puppy and 1 year old puppy were left indoors and when we got home there was sick on the floor and remains of bubble wrap and envelope. How do we know which dog did it? Do we have to siv through their poo? Why would they eat an electrical item?
