How to play my iphone music through my Acura Handsfreelink?

I have paired my phone with my handsfreelink and when i go to my music app on my phone i see a new icon near the play button at the bottom. When i click on the icon it brings up a menu to select where to play the music from and gives me 3 options. The first option says iphone and has a checkmark next to it so i assume that means the music will play through my phone. Under this option is another iphone option but this one has no checkmark. The very last option says "HandsFreeLink TM" and when i saw this i thought i had solved it, but when i click on the HandsFreeLink option nothing happens. The menu closes but the checkmark will still be over the iphone option if i click on the icon again. Has anyone else had this problem?

You can't play music thru the HFL. You either need the iPod link interface cable that comes on cars for 2005 or newer cars.

Otherwise you need to buy separate thig like USA spec and have it installed aftermarket.

The HFL is only for the phone itself.

  • My Iphone 3g won't play music through the headphones? Earlier today i went to put my music on through my headphones and it just played through the speakers. The earphones were pushed all the way in, i then tried using my earphones in a friends ipod and they worked fine but when i tried their earphones on my iphone same thing: played through speakers and not earphones. Does anyone know if this is fixable?
