My iPhone won't play music through headphones?

Hi, so about 3 months ago, my iphone stopped playing music through my headphones and only plays through the speakers, even if my headphones are plugged in: S i was wondering if this has happened to anyone else and if so, is there any way i can fix it without sending it off?

Are you sure it's the phone and not the headphones?

I've been using AirPods for a couple months now and the battery is getting pretty bad so I decided to get some plug-in Apple headphones but those don't work. When I plug them in I get a "not supported" notification. I've also tried friends headphones that worked fine on there phone, so I know it's not just faulty wires.

I tried restating my phone but it still doesn't work. I know my headphones work cause I can listen on my iPod. Has this happened to you/how do I fix it?
  • My iPhone won't play music when it's connected to headphones? I plugged in my headphones and tried to listen to a song but it wouldn't start playing. So I unplugged the headphones and hit play and the music came out of the actual speakers. Then I paused it and plugged the headphones back in. When I hit play it worked. I just don't want to have to do that every time I want to listen to music. Any help is greatly appreciated.
