How to put my music on another iphone without erasing everything?

Here's the story. My family shares an itunes account, but we all have separate computers. I have put a ton of music onto my computer from old cds that I found, and my mom wants the songs too. I don't have the cds any more, but I have the songs existing on both my phone and the computer. Her iphone is set to manually manage music and stuff, but I can't seem to get around the erase and sync problem. We want the songs from the other computer to stay on her phone, and I would like to add songs that were not purchased in itunes onto her phone from the other computer but every time i plug her phone in to my computer, it asks me to erase her library and sync mine, which I do not want to do. Can anyone help?

This is why I use Android. Drag and drop, anywhere, any computer, any time.

"I can't seem to get around the erase and sync problem"

Even after you have synced? Once you let that happen, are you able to set for MM then? It shouldn't matter if your iPod gets erased once if you then have the music files on your computer to copy back to it.

I'm confused - there are multiple devices and computers here. You're trying to put songs on Mom's phone, right? Mom's phone can be manually managed on one computer, but not the other right? And the songs you want are on the computer that insists on using sync - do I have that down?

If that's the case, why not just copy the song files from the "sync computer" to the "manually manage computer?" You can do that with a flash drive. Songs are just files.

I hope you remembered to back those songs up to CDR or DVD data disc or a flash drive. A CDR can hold something like 150 to 200 songs; a DVDR over 6x that. If your computer breaks down, all that can be lost if you haven't learned how to copy from your iPod. I see the same question posted by several different people every day - "got a new computer, lost all my music when the old one crashed".

  • Syncing iphone without erasing everything? Ok so my dad for some reason wiped our whole computer to put windows 7 on it. And so my whole itunes librairy is gone. I want to add new music but its making me erase and sync. I have over 2000 songs on my iphone and most of it is downloaded off of datpiff (all legal) which means I would have to individually download over 100 albums individually again which is a pain in my ***.Is there anyway to get around this?
  • Iphone, how to sync new music without erasing everything else? Help! I wanted to add a few new songs to my iphone and when I wanted to listen to it later, I noticed that all of my other 200 songs were gone. Did I miss something in the syncing process? Should I change my settings? I'm sure its something simple.
  • How to transfer music to iphone without erasing other contents? Like it is saying it will erase contents of the iphone. I just want to transfer music from itunes to my iphone without any other change(so I still have pics and contacts)
  • How to sync your iPod/iPhone without erasing existing music? I lost the majority of my music on iTunes and it won't restore it all. I want to know how to sync my iPod and iPhone to iTunes without having to erase my existing music that is already on my iPhone/iPod. I'd also like to know if there's any way you can sync music to iTunes from your iPod/iPhone?
