How to receive and make calls with Wi-Fi?

I have an iphone, but I don't have good service at home. But I have good Wi-Fi. Are iPhones just not compatible with receiving calls and texts through Wi-Fi? Because I can't receive any calls or texts when I'm running on Wi-Fi. I tried to turn my data off and just run Wi-Fi. It didn't work. I don't want to have to download an app and have my number changed either. Please please help me

You can Facetime and iMessage other iPhone users through Wi-Fi. To text and call other people through Wi-Fi internet, you really need to download an app such as Whatsapp, Viber, or Skype. And these apps work with people who also have these apps.

Hi, if you are facing such problems i will suggest you to download an app called "viber". I know you do not want to download any app but believe me this app is fabulous and after creating an account on it you will enjoy free call and text services.
Just go on iphone store and install viber. It's very easy to work with it. You are having Wi-Fi facility then go for this app you will enjoy better services dear.
