How to recover text messages on iphone? READ DESCRIPTION?

So I need to recover my text messages. Basically someone is doing bad stuff to me so I need evidence and I had all the text messages on my phone. The problem is my phone fell in the toilet, I know i'm dumb, and I'm getting a new one and I really need to recover my texts. I had icloud and have my pictures backed up but i don't know if i had my texts backed up, i don't even know if you can back them up. Is there any way I can recover my texts before my phone comes in.

Don't lose hope. Your texts have been backed up with iCloud, but you can't find them by just logging in. If you have backed up with iTunes, the same problem.
