How to remove blaster virus/internet connection problems?

I have a blaster virus on my laptop. But I've already format my entire Hard disk. My question is does it spread around the network? And does it get to the router? Because even when my router is not connected to any of my computer ( I used iphone to check the log) I'm still getting network traffic. Any help?

Added (1). I think it's my router acting out because my router told me that my laptop might have a blaster type virus. But even when my laptop is not connected, it still showing other computer has problem.

it was patched by microsoft many years ago.

you have Malware telling you that you have a virus.
the program telling you that you have this,
is a fake program. (scamware)

google the name of the program and you should find out how to remove it.

Sasser/blaster virus was wiped out a long time ago by windows updates

Blaster and all of its variants were erradicated years ago.

None of the variants caused internet connection problems.

if you formatted your hard drive, then you're fine.

Blaster does NOT infect routers. (or rather, it did not when it was still around).

You're still getting network traffic because your router has to send occasional messages to the ISP. It's part of normal operation.

Do this… Go to the site below click Free stuff at the top and run House-call on the free stuff page. It is one of the few Free antivirus removes. After it removes it IMMEDIATELY delete your system restore points as the virus is hidden in there also.

Then reboot and you are ok

Start the machine and repeatedly tap the F8 key until the option screen appears and choose safemode with networking then open your browser and go to SAFETY. LIVE.com that is Microsoft's online virus scanner there are others SYMANTEC.com… McAfee.com… After that go to MalwareBytes.org and download their free scanner and run the scan… Avira.com and Kaspersky.com offer free rescue disk just use a clean machine to download and burn the disk set your bios to boot from the cd/dvd player and run the rescue disk before the machine can boot up…
