How do you remove the sim card from an iPhone 4 and iPhone 6 plus?

Added (1). the paperclip method isn't working

On the iPhone 4 and 6 models, it's on the side of the phone. You'll need a paper clip or similar long, thin object (they come with a "SIM eject tool" but EVERYBODY loses them). Insert the paper clip into the tiny hole on the side, and press to release the spring-loaded sim card tray. It's a lot like the release on a CD/DVD player/drive.

iPhones that came out before the 4 models have the sim card tray at the top, but the mechanism is the same.

Edit: If the paperclip method isn't working, it's possible the spring mechanism (which isn't actually a spring - it just behaves that way) has slipped or has been broken somehow. If that's the case, you're going to need to take it in to an Apple store to get them to open up the case. You can do it, but you'll void the warranty. That's probably not a problem with the 4, but the 6 is new enough that it's probably still under warranty.

You might also let someone else try it; sometimes it's just a matter of getting the "feel" of it. You should feel something "give" very slightly when you insert the paperclip.

Sorry I don't have better news for you.
