How to restore my photos and contacts from my old iPhone to my new iPhone?
So I've set up my icloud on my iPhone 4S to only back up my photos and contacts, which are the only important things to me in a phone. I just got a brand new iPhone 5. How do I restore from my backup from icloud to my new phone? And will it only restore my photos and contacts from my iPhone 4S because I've set it that way in the first place?
Backup your data
Go into your settings and select the icloud option from it. Then make sure you have it so icloud can download your stuff. Then it should download on it's own when you're connected to Wi-Fi.
* 1 Run an update check to make sure you are using the latest version of iTunes. If not, download the updates.
* 2 Restart iTunes and connect your old iPhone to your computer via USB port.
* 3Select the iPhone from the left column of the iTunes bar and click "Sync" in the window displayed.
* 4 Unplug your old iPhone from the USB cable and replace it with the new iPhone. Now the new iPhone will be connected to your computer.
* 5 Find the iPhone name on the left side of your iTunes screen and click on it.
* 6Click "Sync" at the bottom right side of the page to transfer all of your data onto the new iPhone.
On a PC
* 7 Download iTunes Backup Manager from Apple.
* 8Connect the old iPhone to your PC using a USB cable.
* 9Download iTunes Backup Manager from Apple.
* 10 Open iTunes and click on the iPhone name on the left bar of the window.
* 11Click "Back up" in the window displayed to back up all of the contacts and information in the old iPhone before closing iTunes.
* 12 Close iTunes and open iTunes Backup Manager.
* 13 Select the old phone on the left to open the contents of the phone.
* 14Check the boxes with file paths that end in "AddressBook" or "AddressBookImages."
* 15Find "Export" under the File menu at the top of the page.
* 16Check the boxes for "Export only Checked Files" and "Export with Backup Information" before clicking "OK."
* 17 Disconnect the old iPhone and connect the new iPhone to the USB cable going into the computer.
* 18Open iTunes Backup Manager and click on the new iPhone on the left.
* 19Go to "Import" under the "File" menu and find the files that you just exported. Click "OK."
* 20Find "Restore" under the File menu and check "Restore only Modified Files" before clicking "OK."
* 21Disconnect the iPhone from the computer and check that the contacts have been successfully transferred to your new iPhone.

- Unknown contacts and photos appearing in my new iphone? I just bought a 5s on amazon. The phone came in new, sealed, and obviously no signs of use. When I turned the phone on and insert the sim card, it only asked me to setup the Wi-Fi and activated the phone. Then I found lots of preinstalled apps, a bunch of unknown contacts, and lots of pictures (most of them were from 2015!). What the funk happened? I'm an android guy and ios is new to me… Please help!
- Is it possible to restore my iPhone without deleting the photos or contacts? I went on a vacation and forgot my camera at home so I used my iPhone to take pictures. On the way home, my iPhone said that if I wanted to use it, I had to connect it to iTunes. When I connected it to my laptop, it said that my phone needed to be restored, but to do that, it needed to delete my photos and contacts. Is there any way I can restore it without deleting my pictures and contacts?
