How to restore your iTunes purchases after reinstalling iTunes?

About a year ago we got a new computer and I had to re-install iTunes and all I had to do to restore my purchases was connect my iPod to the computer. We had to restore our computer a couple of days ago and I'm finally getting around to re-installing iTunes but I can't find an option to sync my iPhone and my iTunes account so my purchases that are on my iPhone can show up under purchased on iTunes. Last time I did this the option popped up as soon as I connected my iPod but this time the only thing I could find was sync music and it was going to take all my songs off my iPhone and sync it with my computer but I want it the other way around. Anybody know how to fix this?

LBT13. You may try this way.
1. Open up Itunes and Click on Itunes Store
2. Once you're in the Itunes Store look to right side of the screen and you should see the word "purchased". Click purchased and you'll be sent to a purchase screen.
3. Click on "All Songs" and then it will show all the songs you've downloaded. From there you just hit the button that looks like a cloud with an arrow on it, and it will download all the songs all over again.

Step 4: Scroll down on the apps to see if there are your apps

  • When you restore your iphone, does it wipe out everything from your itunes? I understand that it will wipe out everything from your physical iphone, but i was wondering if it would wipe out everything on your itunes account to, such as music.
  • Restore your purchases option, did I actually buy something? I got this neat manga app my iPhone and later when I went to delete some I saw a restore your purchases option. I was never prompted to give a credit card number and the download was free so I kinda freaked out. Does this option just mean that I can restore deleted mangas should I want to read them again? Manga is a type of comic for those wondering
  • Reinstalling whatsapp on iPhone 4? I installed whatsapp when it was free in the App Store. It's giving me trouble now and the only solution is to delete and reinstall the app. However, now the app is paid in the store. If I reinstall the app now, will I have to pay for it?
  • Reinstalling itunes on a new pc? My old pc stopped working, so i got a new one and i have a internal hard drive and tried starting up itunes but it tells me it needs to be reinstalled. Will i loose all the music on my iphone or anything else?
