How to save battery on my iPhone 5?

I'm going camping and I'm going be totally out of service up in the hills but I still want to use my phone to take take pictures so how would go about making my battery last without turning my phone off?

Make sure All applications are properly closed when you are not using them, and turn down the screen light. Has saved my power immensely!

If you just don't use it, except for the pictures, it lasts for a really long time. One time I charged my phone and left it on the charger until i left my house and it got to 100% and i checked the phone a few hours later and it was still at 100%.

There are many apps you can find that will probably save a bit battery for your phone. I would suggest lowering the brightness to a minimum, turning off Wi-Fi, GPS and stopping all working applications. You can also try AVG Anti-Virus mobile, it will save your battery a bit, as it has more options than I mentioned.

Put the phone on Airplane mode.

Some people say that that doesn't work, so I'll tell you the best thing to do. Go to Settings> General> Cellular> Cellular Data, then turn it off. This turns off all of the data until you turn it back on. So you're phone won't constantly be looking for new mail, updating the weather, updating your location, all of that.

Then, go to W-Fi, and turn that off. Make sure Bluetooth is also off. Then the last step is to make sure that your Location Services (Go to settings> privacy) is off, and close all of your running applications (double click the home button, and the multitasking bar will appear. Hold down one of the icons, and the minus sign will appear. Click it. The app will disappear from the multitasking bar. That means that app is no longer running in the background, so it saves your battery.

You can actually buy those little fold our solar chargers for iphones and ipods… Its like a deck of cards and it folds open for charging. I heard they are really slow to charge, but might be something to do for camping or hiking for days. Otherwise if you have a vehicle you can start it and connect to cigarette lgither for a while.
