How to set iphone so when people text me it says message failed?
How do I set my iphone so when someone texts me it doesn't go through to me and it shows up as message failed for them?
You could turn off iMessage.
Text messages are not sent direct to recipients phone but are transferred via a message server. The server first checks that the number entered is valid, if ok it will then attempt to send message on.
If phone is not able to receive ( turned off or no signal ) sender will get sent confirmation, server will continue to try forwarding message for a pre determined length of time.
The only reason sender would get failed notice is if the number they have entered does not exist (entered incorrectly or terminated).
So, the only way you could cause a "message failed" on your current number would be to change it.
- Will my message be delivered if sent as text message on iphone? My friend said that she was having phone problems earlier today. My message was being sent as an imessage, but I guess she wasn't receiving everyone of them, just getting the notifications that they were sent to her but she couldn't read them.
