How to ship an iPhone X to the UK?
The iPhone X costs $999 dollars. I assumed that due to the conversion rate they would cost me (in England) £751. However, it costs me £999, meaning I have to pay an extra £250 for no reason what so ever. Is there a way I can have one bought in America then sent to me, or any other way to avoid this extra spending.
You have to pay VAT and international fees - it's not a straight conversion. If a new one is shipped, either the shipper has to pay that fee or you do - and the shipper ain't going to eat that fee.
You can but… Yiu will have to pay international shipping, customs fees, duties and VAT.
You won't save anything.
No reason its more? You gotta pay for the "free" stuff like healthcare and council housing.

Keep in mind you also have to add sales tax to that $999 depending on which state you are placing the order from/delivery to.
If you know someone in the States that could send it to you afterwards & it does work out cheaper, then by all means. That's how I purchase my iPhones since it costs way more in comparison to buy them locally.
If you don't know someone then you are sort of out of luck because when you buy from Apple.com (US) you can only have it shipped in the US. Lets say you did, then you also would have to apply shipping costs for it as well from the US to the UK.
Purchase cost: £750
Estimated shipping: £20.
Import duty, V.A.T. And brokerage charges: about £250.
Total cost to you: over £1,000.
