How to spot a stolen iphone?
I lost my iphone or it was Stolen, and am looking to buy one off of kijiji (like Craigslist) and I'm paranoid about buying it and then it being stolen and I'm screwed.
The person I may be buying off of is offering an iphone 5, 32gb brand new in box with the plastic coverings on both sides of the phone for 450. It's not been Activated yet and is locked to telus (which is who I have a contract with right now). They said they have an android which is why they are selling this one.
If I stick my moms SIM card (iPhone 5s) in the phone I should be able to tell if it's okay right? How would I know if the sin number has been blacklisted on the phone? Or how would I know that the phone isn't stolen?
What should I check for when I try out the phone?
I just don't want to get screwed out of that much money when I already lost my phone and having a hard enough time paying for this new one.
Any advice will help a lot!
If you are willing to shell out that much money you should just purchase one from a regular store, Apple your phone carrier store whatever. That way if you buy it from there you guaranteed that it's working phone and all.

- MacBook goes to sleep mode when iPhone placed in one spot? I noticed a few months ago that every time that I place my iPhone 5 on the space to the left of my MacBook track pad, it automatically shuts off all connections to my MacBook, and the laptop goes into sleep mode.
