How to stop being jealous of my peers that r better off than me?
MY RICH COUSIN: Okay so this is what my cousin who is 12 got for Christmas: an iPhone, Taylor swift concert tickets, & to go to a basketball camp at notes same university for a whole week during the summer. Her family also took her to California, myrtle Beach, AND Hilton head this summer. They live in a big house they had built out in the suburbs. She also has her OWN laptop her parents got her.
ME: I'm 15. I live in a small house in the city(Cleveland). My family NEVER goes on vacations. We sometimes go on small trips but they're only within our state(ohio) or a few hours away in like nearby pennsylvania. & honestly ohio is so freakin boring. & I've never even been on a plane! I also hve. A basic phone & I really want an iPhone my fam doesn't hve the money.
MY FRIEND: so like he has an iPad & he gets 2 go on a lot of vacations like he & his family went 2 Florida for Christmas break & they just went this summer.
MY OTHER FRIEND: he has an iPhone & always brags abt it. This summer he got to go to California, Arizona, Oregon, AND Nevada this summer!
CLASSMATES: well everyone at my private highschool(only go there cuz Cleveland pub. Schools are awful) has an iPhone or some kind of smart phone or iPad or laptop. & they all live in big suburban houses & get to go on fun vacations multiple times a year. This one kid went through TWO iPhones last year & his dad owns a Cosby in CHINA & so he gets 2 go there every summer.
so I'm just like really JEALOUS because I LOVE TO TRAVEL but never get to go anywhere & I wAnna go to fun beautiful places like them & I want a nice phone & I'm just really jealous because they get everything they want & I don't. And DON'T tell me I'm being greed because I'm sure you get jealous & want things too. So how do I get rid of this jealousy?
Although jealousy is one of the ugliest traits a person could ever have, it's normal to feel jealous. Of course you would want those concert tickets or the latest iPhone. But you need to realize that these are superficial things and doesn't really count towards anything. The main reason why people buy so many things is to show off to other people.
- Why is everyone jealous of Apple? Why are so many people and companies jealous of Apple? Can't they just admit that Apple is the better man among them? They make the finest hardware known to man, devastatingly stable and productive operating systems and applications, and extremely good technical support, Google and Windows have tried to take on Apple but to no avail, they fail miserably, as Samsung failed miserably in patent infringement of the Iphone, so why can't everyone just admit that Apple is the best? Why?
- How to stop being materialistic and jealous? My girlfriend just got an iPhone 6s and I'm being irrationally jealous of it. I'm 18 and I still don't have a working phone. I play sports and I'm trying to go to college and play a sport so I really don't have time for a job and my parents don't believe in spending money on stuff like that.
