How to stop my iPhone 5s from letting me know when I get a new email?

Piece of shi* sits there and either makes sounds all night or vibrates all night. It seems those are my only 2 options.

Added (1). If I do anything with my settings, the only 2 options are sounds or "none". "None" means vibrate. So I'm starting to think the only way to shut off the notification is by changing my email address to a fake one.

Follow these steps:
iPhone
1.Select the Settings application
2.Select Sounds
3.Change New Email to Off or None

Note: you'll also want to turn off the Badge icon for iPhone, which lets you know about unread messages. We recommend turning off this huge distraction:

3.Scroll down to and click on Mail
4.Change Badge App Icon to Off

Lmao! Go to settings and then to notification centre. You will see the list of enabled apps so you just edit it and drag the mail app down to "do not include". Or you could just activate your "do not disturb" setting and be worry free

Its just doing what it was designed to do. If you don't care to have your email accessible on the phone you could delete it from the phone.

If you don't want that simply use Do Not Disturb, which the name says it all.
