How to stop unwanted Facebook updates coming to my iPhone as text messages?

I like getting message about something I have posted or liked but I have started getting messages about a page I like. I do like reading the posts on FB but not as a text on my iphone. I do not know how this started and it seems to have started in the past week. Any info on why this started, how to change it and if you can select which post show up on your iPhone would be wonderful.

Open your phone settings
Tap Notifications then tap facebook
Tap and slide "Notification Center" to On
Set "View in Lock Screen" to off
Set "none" to Banners or Alerts

go to fb app
Tap Account Settings > Notifications > Mobile Push
Check the things you want to get notifications about or un-check the things you don't want to get notifications about.

  • Why do I receive text messages and missed calls on my old Iphone. How do I stop this? When someone calls me on my new phone, it shows up as "missed call from ___".It doesn't ring on my on my old phone, but after I answer the call on my new phone, it says missed call on the old phone, if that makes sense. I receive text messages from people on my old iphone as well. I use it as my iPod because it could drain the life out of my new phone, so I don't necessarily want to reset the entire phone. I have cellular data off and I'm with Verizon.
  • When are updates due to stop for the iPhone 4S? I'm looking at getting an iPhone 4S on a 2-year contract soon. However, now the iPhone 5 is out I know that they stop updates on the older iPhone devices, e.g. The iPhone 3G(s) can no longer receive a lot of the new updates. If I get the 4S on a 2-year contract will the updates etc.stop within this time?
  • Text messages coming up as iMessages? When I try to text my friend who doesn't have an iPhone, it comes up as iMessage, so when I send it, she doesn't receive it. Why is it doing this?
  • How do you stop calls coming from one device coming to your device from iCloud (apple iPhone)? I'm 13 and i don't have a credit card so i use my mums account and since my phone and her phone has the same icloud, her calls come into MY phone and i've tried making a new apple id but it won't work so how can i stop it (i've already logged out on my phone) so how can i stop it?
