How to stop your messages being sent as iMessages?
I may be being really dumb right now but every time I send a text it turns it into an iMessage, which means if the person I send it to doesn't have internet then they won't get it right? I can't work out how to just send a normal text for people who don't have Wi-Fi or iMessage on their phone…
(I have an iPhone 6)
It doesn't matter whether they have imessage or not
if you have imessage switched on and they don't - providing you have credit on your phone service (not just internet) the message will be sent as an sms
if on the other hand you do not have credit and wish to send an sms to someone (who doesn't have imessage obviously) is to sign up and pay to a service like skype whereby you can sms anyone
that all being said - if this is a circle of friends - maybe you can all agree on a messaging service that works for you all - quite a few to choose from
Normal texts are not sent through Wi-Fi, iMessage or the internet - they are sent through the phone's service provider.
No, imessage works whether its on celltower or Wi-Fi. If the person doesn't have imessage then it just sends regular sms.
- Why is my Iphone not sending as Imessages and receiving iMessages from one person? I'm texting my wife and we both have iPhone's and she is getting the messages as an iMessage but the ones I'm sending her on my end show up at green. Sometime it will go as blue, get the little red exclamation point then send as regular SMS. I'm texting someone else too and she has an iPhone, and she is getting mine as regular iMessages and mine are sending as regular iMessages. Why aren't they sending to me wife as iMessages?
- PERSONAL iPhone messages being sent to family members? I imessage my friend (who owns an iphone) with my ipad fairly often. However, recently, for some reason, my mother, who owns an iphone and shares my apple ID, has been receiving our personal messages between one another. It's as if apple decided to include her in our conversation without consent. My messages to my friend go to my mom, and my friends messages to me go to my mom. None of us want this. What has happened, and how do I fix this?
- Newest iPhone update automatically saves pictures sent in iMessages to camera roll. How do I make this stop? I installed the newest iPhone update the other day and I noticed a bunch of pictures that I took in the messages app and sent via iMessage were saved to my camera roll. This just junks up the pictures I want to save and I have to delete them every time. Is there a way to turn off this auto save?
- Just got a new iPhone 4, messages are being sent from email? I broke my phone so I was sent a new one. After setting it up all of my messages are being sent from my icloud email. When I go into settings and go to iMessage there's an option to change where I would like to send and receive messages. The only option I can choose is my email. There's an option for my number but it is grayed out and I can't chose it. How do I fix this?
