How to switch from 5ghz mode to 2.4ghz mode for Wi-Fi sharing on Dell Latitude 3340?
I'm using a program called Connectify Hotspot on my Dell Latitude 3340 which is running Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit. I want to connect my iPhone 4 to the hotspot but because my iPhone is so old, and my laptop is so new, it doesn't support the network channel. I just want to know how to switch from 5ghz mode, to 2.4gz mode so my iPhone can connect.
Connectify Hotspot shares your existing Internet connection. You need to change the mode on your router by logging in to the router's admin page which is often at…
http://192.168.0.1
You should then find a setting to switch to 2.4GHz mode…
You should try checking in the Device Manager under the Advanced Properties of your adapter for these options to see if you can just broadcast at 2.4ghz only…
If not then you will have to do Duncan suggestion as that's how Connectify works.
Although your default may not be 192.168.0.1… Could be 192.168.1.1… But you would know best.
---------------------------------------…
Sorry you may have your 2.4ghz connection already enable… And if you connect your Dell to the 2.4ghz then your connectify will reproduce a 2.4ghz signal.
This sounds like the typical problem if both 2.4 and 5 GHz are using the same network name. Log onto the router and change the settings so that the router uses different network names on the two bands. You should be able to select which network name you want to connect to.
