How to switch from an iphone to a droid w/ verizon?

I lost my iphone a few days ago and so bought a droid off of craigslist. How do I transfer my number to droid? Do I have to go in or just call a special number or something else?

First thing is to go into your Verizon Wireless account and run a backup for contacts etc. Go to the "Activate or Switch Device" page in My Verizon. > Select Activate Device> I'm activating a device that I have not used with this account> A Device ID field will appear.>Enter the Device ID of the device you want to activate.
Click Next.

Then if prompted, follow the steps to select a new plan and click Continue Activation.
Follow the steps to back up your contacts, if you haven't done so already.
Click Next.

If your prompted, follow the steps for transferring your SIM card.
Review your changes to make sure they're correct and click Submit.

**Note depending on the phone it may just be easier to find a store and go in. Since you own the phone they will activate it for free and without changing your plan.
