How to sync iPhone to new computer? - 1

I recently got a new iPhone, then a new laptop. When I first got my new iPhone, I had to download each individual song over again, because I don't typically purchase my songs (I know, that's bad). I had to delete those files once I got them onto my phone, because they were taking up way too much space on my laptop (I have ~350 songs). Now that I've got a new laptop, I'm wondering how to sync my phone with the new iTunes without losing everything. I don't have the music files backed up, and I've googled this but no one seems to have this same situation. (I'm mad at myself for not backing the files up on a USB but I didn't have one at the time.)

Not possible

Because your music is not purchased from iTunes store, you need a 3rd party software to copy the files from iPhone to your new computer for backup first, and then add them into your new iTunes library, sync your iPhone with the new iTunes, then you will not lose any files. This method worked for me.

  • If I sync my iPhone with a new computer will it erase my camera roll? Is there any other way get my camera roll onto computer bc the videos are very long and they don't go on computer, also my old computer was messed up so I couldn't do anything and it used 10 GB for pics that I didn't have! • If i sync my iPhone to my computer will it take my photos off my phone and put them on the computer? I need to have my phone synced for the app zedge but i don't want my photos to be taken off my phone. There's this bar and on it it says photos, app, ect. And next to it is a little button that says sync. So IIm guessing it will take my photos. But i don't want that to happen but i need to sync my phone. Is there anyway i can do it without having my pictures going on to the computer?
  • If I sync JUST music to iPhone on a new computer - do I lose everything? Hi, my computer is broken and in for repair but I want new music on my iPhone. If I plug my iPhone into my laptop (after unticking 'allow devices to auto-sync') and ONLY sync music… Will I lose everything on my phone or will my music just change? It suggests in a warning I can only sync to one computer and I'd lose everything - but I don't know if this 'everything' is actually everything - like my pictures - or just all my current music - which would be fine.
