How to tell if my iPhone is unlocked

It's an iPhone 4s. My friend said he unlocked it and jailbroke it for me but how can I make sure it is?
There's a folder with 4 apps in it "Cydia" "unlockit.co.nz" "FuriousMod4s" and "Winterboard"…
I'm trying to activate it with straight talk and it's a sprint phone that's why I wanna know!

The phone is jailbroken, cydia is only found on jailbroken iPhones.i've never unlocked an iPhone so i'm not completely sure. I believe that only iPhones with sim cards can be unlocked, but don't hold me to that.

You can't unlock a Sprint iPhone. You flash them. Virtually they accomplish the same thing, but you're gonna confuse a sh*tload of people using the wrong word.

So if your "friend" did flash your phone and jailbreak it, then you would hypothetically be able to use it on any other CMDA network.

Is Straight Talk a CMDA network? The hell if I know…

I want to get an iPhone 4S and my friend has the iPhone 4 unlocked but i'm worried that if i get it non-factory unlocked it won't work. My uncle tried to do it a couple of months ago and apple said that if it was factory unlocked every time the phone shut off or died it would reset. I was just wondering if the same thing would happen if it wasn't factory unlocked? So if I get it unlocked everytime it will shut off it will reset? That is what i'm worried about.
