How to track a missing iPhone?

Yesterday I walked to my friends house, who lives in the same subdivision as me, through heavy snow. When I got to my friend's, my iPhone wasn't in my pocket. It somehow fell in the snow. I tried using Find my iPhone, and it said all of the other devices connected my apple ID are online, but my iPhone is offline. I've tried using free online trackers, but they either aren't accurate and say its in some other city 5 miles away, or they make you give your credit card for some 30 dollar a month subscription. I've also tried calling it over and over again while retracing my steps, but i couldn't hear it. When I sent my iPhone a text from another iPhone, the "delivered" message didn't pop up on the sender's iPhone.

Is there any way I can track my iPhone accurately and free? My provider is Verizon, would they be able to track the exact location of my phone?

Also, I really need to find it because I don't have any more upgrades available on my plan, so I can't get a new phone. Would the moisture and low temperature of the snow have killed the phone by now? I lost it yesterday, around 20 hours ago, if that helps.

Icloud.com. But if the phone has no power it can't be done.

  • Why can't they track the iPhones (Smartphones) of the people on missing plane? Many of them would have one and also activated locate my iPhone application. And they say your movement can be tracked on smart phones.
  • Top Rated Playlist Missing Iphone 3gs? My Top Rated List from my Iphone 3gs has disappeared recently. I understand people have un-sync'd everything and then sync'd again which has worked for them. I have quite a number of songs deselected that i had to do manually and took me a while so i do not want to do this again. I love my top rated play list though. Is there another way to get it back?
  • Siri missing from iPhone 4S? I have an iPhone 4S, and Siri is missing. There's not an option for turning her on general settings, and she's not in the restrictions also. I have restored, reset and updated the phone and she's still not around. I'd really like a friend in my phone thanks.
  • My iPhone 5 is missing/stolen? I had my phone stolen at Walmart yesterday and i thought i downloaded the find my iphone app but apparently i never did. If i file a police report and contact ATT would they be able to help in any way? I don't know what to do I know i have to do that but would they realistically be able to do anything for me? Could they track the IMEI number and locate it
